Bolt Ring
A "Bolt Ring" is a hollow loop with an internal spring operated catch, which is retracted then released when attached to a link at the other end of the chain. This is the basic type of fastening for a necklace or bracelet.
Charlotte Crimp
A "Charlotte Crimp" is a small cup and hook. It is used to link a cord strung necklace to a clasp. It conceals the knot by squeezing the cup section together over the knot.
Clasp
A "Clasp" is a fastener for a necklace or bracelet. There are several types of clasps available.
Crimp
A "Crimp" is a fastener that secures parts by bending metal around a joint and squeezing it together. In the case of a necklace, it is a small object that is placed between beads/crystals on the necklace to space them and secure them in place. A crimp is closed shut using a pair of flat nose pliers.
Jump Ring
